Who is behind The Running Overo?

My name is Bianca Toussaint, I am a proud mother of two wonderful boys and the lucky human, responsible also for our 4-legged family members, which includes our beloved horses, dogs and goats on our little Ranch in now Central Florida, USA.

I have been a very creative person all my life, finished school in Germany with Art as my main subject and sadly had to quit painting and drawing shortly after, due to an injury of my hand. Still doing some crafts and projects here and there over the years,

I ended up getting into leather work, when I lived in Texas, which has always fascinated me - and I think, I love it the most of it all now.

After some years only doing leatherwork for myself or as gifts for friends and family, I decided to finally open my shop,

"The Running Overo", to put my creative work out there and make it available for everyone who loves and appreciates it

and of course also to support my family, with something I love doing.

All my creations are designed by me and completely handmade, here in my little workshop at home, I do not have any machines, so from cutting over tooling, dyeing, beveling ect...all the way to sewing - my products are completely made by hand, by me, for you! This process requires several hours for each product, and I am happy that there are still people out there, that love and appreciate real hand made items. Every piece is unique! So if you want "one of a kind", you don't need to look any further.

Starting my own small business, was a huge step for me. I chose the name "The Running Overo", because I want to dedicate all this to my heart horse "Journey", who I rescued in Feb 2017 as a severely malnourished and neglected, feral Sorrel Overo Paint Yearling. I've been doing animal rescue all my life, in Europe and later here in the US. Pretty much all our animals are Rescues. "Journey" was the first one, I rescued here in the United States, so everything here, started with him.

He means so very much to me. His strength to overcome so much, his gratefulness, his loyalty, his dedication and his love, keeps inspiring me over and over again, in all aspects of my life. He's been my rock in difficult times and I want to honor him by naming my brand "The running Overo" and our little Ranch ("The Running Overo Ranch") after him.
